ABC 2025-26 Season Renewals for Scripted Series; New Season of Phineas and Ferb Returns June 5
ABC has renewed most of its hit scripted line-up. 9-1-1 for Season 9 (and the third on ABC), Grey's Anatomy for Season 22, The Rookie for Season 8, Shifting Gears for Season 2 and Will Trent for Season 4 all for the 2025-26 Season. These join the previosuly picked up High Potential for Season 2 and Abbott Elementary for Season 5. ABC has also picked up new drama 9-1-1: Nashville, while The Conners is ending. Still no word on a second season for Doctor Odyssey. Stay tuned, as ABC will still announce its unscripted pick-ups (Shark Tank, AFV, The Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars, and more are all expected to return).
Disney Branded Television is rolling out the teal carpet for the highly anticipated return of the five-time Emmy® Award-winning and BAFTA-nominated Phineas and Ferb. The new season will premiere on Thursday, June 5, at 8 p.m. PDT/EDT on Disney Channel and Disney XD with two episodes, and the first episode will be available the same day on Disney Channel YouTube. The first 10 episodes of the season will premiere on Disney+ in the U.S. and select international markets on Friday, June 6, with additional markets to follow later this year. The episodes will also be available to stream on Disney Channel on Demand. A special sneak peek will debut on Monday, May 26, at 11:35 a.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Channel YouTube.

Apple TV+ Renews Shrinking for Season 3; Guest Voices for Phineas and Ferb New Season
On the heels of the second season premiere of Shrinking, Apple TV+ announced that the critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-nominated comedy has landed a renewal for season three. Co-created by Jason Segel, Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, the first two episodes of Shrinking season two are now streaming globally on Apple TV+, and new episodes premiere every Wednesday. The news was announced at New York Comic Con where creators Segel and Goldstein, along with stars Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley, took the Main Stage for a special discussion around the new season.
Starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford in one of this first television roles, Shrinking follows grieving therapist Jimmy (played by Segel) who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people's lives ... including his own. In addition to Segel and Ford, Shrinking stars Emmy Award nominee Christa Miller, Emmy Award nominee Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley. Season two also features a guest star appearance by Brett Goldstein.
Also at New York Comic Con, Disney Branded Television officially revealed the voice cast for the highly anticipated new season of Phineas and Ferb. For the first time in over a decade, co-creators and executive producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh will reunite with the rest of the beloved cast at their NYCC panel, which also includes exclusive sneak peeks of the new season. Phineas and Ferb is scheduled to debut next year on Disney Channel and Disney+.
Known for its history of celebrity cameos from fans of the show, Phineas and Ferb's next season will feature new guest appearances from notable actors, musicians, athletes and more. They will join Vincent Martella and David Errigo Jr. as stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, respectively, Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn, Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus, Alyson Stoner as Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, and co-creators and executive producers Dan Povenmire as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh as Major Francis Monogram. The new season of Phineas and Ferb will follow the inventive stepbrothers as they tackle another 104 days of summer. Candace is more determined than ever to finally bust her little brothers while their pet platypus, Perry, continues to lead a double life as the suave Agent P whose sole mission is to thwart Dr. Doofenshmirtz from taking over the Tristate area.
