SitcomsOnline Digest: CBS Series to Begin Production; Fox Eyeing X-Files as Animated Comedy
Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! It's hard to believe, but we're already getting to the point where fall is knocking on the door, but don't expect a normal fall TV season this year. However, it does look like some shows will be ready to go into production for perhaps a late fall start! Let's get going!
- Several CBS series have been given the green light to begin production, but not exactly in time for the traditional fall season. (Deadline)
- Meanwhile, The Conners actually is back in production, and we've gotten our first cast photo for the series, with the cast wearing masks with the afghan pattern from the couch. (TVLine)
- Fox is considering a version of The X-Files as an animated comedy, because it's Fox and why not? (Hollywood Reporter)
- Joe Ruby, co-creator of Scooby Doo, has died at age 87. (Variety)
- Young Sheldon is coming to Nick at Nite in November. (SitcomsOnline)
- A new MeTV lineup (with minimal changes) is coming September 7. (SitcomsOnline)

When Bobbie catches Isabella doing a slow-fade breakup with her long-distance boyfriend, she convinces her to send a Dear John letter; Steve brings in a review praising Chef Emmett's cooking and acknowledging the tavern's bartender, "Abby."
