SitcomsOnline Digest: Sunnyside Becomes First Casualty of 2019-2020 TV Season; Our Miss Brooks Arrives on DVD
- It's a little earlier than we've had in the past few years, but NBC has become the first one to cancel a sitcom this season, Sunnyside, though the episodes already produced will continue on Hulu (and who knows, maybe it'll find an audience to go beyond the initial production order). (Variety)
- It hasn't exactly been a big "hit" for the network by any means, but Fox has went ahead and renewed Bless the Harts anyway, presumably hoping that it'll grow an audience from nothing in the way Bob's Burgers did. (Deadline)
- Bill Macy, who played the role of Walter on Maude, has died at age 97. (Hollywood Reporter)
- It looks like Clueless may be making a return, but now as a drama instead of a sitcom. (Deadline)
- Nobody talks much about cable or broadcast channels acquiring series now, but it's a big deal to hear which streaming service is going after something, and now the war is on for Community, believe it or not. (Deadline)
- ABC has a week of Halloween programming coming up. (SitcomsOnline)
