  • The longest running on-again/off-again relationship between CBS and Viacom, which is old as TV itself (Viacom originally began as CBS Films in 1952 and was spunoff as a separate entity in 1971), seems to be on the verge of being on again with the two entities at least trying to become one big family again.   • Just as we suspected, Alec Baldwin is now backing down from his comments that he is "done" playing Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live. (TVLine)
  • Local TV news stations have started issuing their own station-based "alert days" for days with potential severe weather that go against the guidance of the National Weather Service, and one meteorologist for Sinclair Broadcasting spoke up against that. Now, he has been fired. (Deadline)
