SitcomsOnline Digest: Reboots for Twilight Zone and Moesha?; House of Cards Coming to an End

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! This week, we're hearing more stories about reboots, news of the cancellation of a Netflix favorite, and more. Let's get going!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
  • It has already been rebooted twice, but now it seems a third reboot of Twilight Zone may be in the works, with Jordan Peele (yes, the same one from Key & Peele) as executive producer. (NY Daily News)
  • The cast of Moesha wants a reboot, too, and while nothing is in the works for that to happen, every "rumored" reboot that comes to life seems to start this way. (Entertainment Weekly)
  • House of Cards was one of the pioneers for original series on Netflix, but now, not only will it be ending after the upcoming season, but Kevin Spacey, the star of the series who has been caught up in controversy lately, has been fired and will be written out. (Entertainment Weekly)
  • The Middle is still ending this season, but fans will be pleased to know that the final season has been extended from 22 episodes to 24 episodes. (Variety)
  • Everybody was making a big deal over NBC's This is Us last season, but this season, ABC has the surprise hit with The Good Doctor, which is attracting a larger audience than even The Big Bang Theory. (Vox)
  • Nobody is saying the word "cancelled" officially just yet, but that's basically what has happened to the CBS series Me, Myself, and I, making it the first one of the season. (SitcomsOnline)

TUESDAY (NOVEMBER 7) HOME MEDIA RELEASES

Claim to Fame: As the fall season has taken hold and we're getting a good sense of the winners and losers of the fall season, one of the biggest winners this season has been the unsuspecting ABC series, The Good Doctor. While the main star of that series (the "good doctor" himself) doesn't have a confirmed Twitter account, Hill Harper, who also stars in the role of Dr. Marcus Andrews in that series, does. His start in television fame actually began with a recurring role on Married... with Children, where he played Aaron, the high school football player who worked with Al who was on the early trajectory to be just like Al when he grew up. But his real claim to fame came from CSI: NY, where he starred in the series for all nine seasons. Following the end of that series, he moved on to Covert Affairs for two seasons and most recently appeared in Homeland. For now, it seems this series will hold him over for a while.
