SitcomsOnline Digest: Jeffrey Tambor (Almost) Officially Out at Transparent; More Alice on DVD
HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
- We mentioned last week that Jeffrey Tambor may be leaving the popular Amazon Prime series Transparent due to sexual harassment allegations against him, and now, he appears to be walking away from the series instead of waiting to see if he is going to be fired. (Variety)
- The Good Place isn't exactly the biggest hit on all of television, but it has been given a very early renewal for a third season by NBC. (Hollywood Reporter)
- "So much time wasted" was the last thing that David Cassidy, best known for his role of Keith Partridge on The Partridge Family, told his daughter this week before he died. (Huffington Post)
- Charlie Rose, who has been a seemingly permanent fixture on PBS for two and a half decades and a part of the CBS News team for the past few years, is now no longer doing either of those jobs due to his part in the ongoing sexual harassment scandals. (Washington Post)
- Peter Baldwin, who had directing credits for series including The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Wonder Years, and many other series over four decades, has died at age 86. (Deadline)
- Among other sitcom related deaths this week in this (sadly) busy week of them: Ann Wedgeworth, Earle Hyman, and Della Reese. (SitcomsOnline)
- For something a little lighter, here is a fun story that we missed a few weeks ago about the investigation of the Donald Trump presidential campaign and Russia ended up causing the TV series Webster trending on Twitter. (Romper)
HOME MEDIA HIGHLIGHTS
