SitcomsOnline Digest: Enlisted to Return as Online Series?; Batman and Wonder Years DVD Updates

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! This week, we've got news of a potential revival of Enlisted, a look at where some of the lost 2014-2015 pilots may be going, an update on some complete series DVD releases, and more. Let's get going!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
  • While the Fox series Enlisted is probably not one of the most memorable series of the past season, it seems that Yahoo! Screen may be interested in reviving the series anyway. (Huffington Post)
  • Not every series that could have made it to the fall lineup actually made it, and Deadline has a look at some of the pilots from the 2014-2015 pilot season that may not be dead just yet. (Deadline)
  • The future of The Late Late Show after Craig Ferguson's departure may be much different than what it is right now, as CBS is said to be exploring all options. (New York Daily News)
  • The new season of The Big Bang Theory is set to go in production soon, but new contracts have yet to be signed for the cast members, some of whom may be holding out for almost three times what they currently earn. (Huffington Post)
  • Rupert Murdoch made an attempt recently to take over the entertainment giant Time Warner, which could have potentially combined the huge libraries of Warner Brothers and Fox into one giant library. (Variety)
  • There are a lot of changes coming to Saturday Night Live, with many of the featured players being let go, as well as Nasim Pedrad leaving for the Fox series Mulaney. (Deadline)
  • "The B is Back," as in The B in Apartment 23, as Logo TV brings back the series beginning today, and will also air the unaired episodes. (SitcomsOnline)

  • A release date has finally been confirmed for Batman on DVD... and Blu-ray! Batman - The Complete Television Series (DVD) and Batman - Limited Edition Blu-ray Complete Television Series (Blu-ray) will be available in stores on November 11. Both are now available for pre-order.
  • An actual date for the DVD release of The Wonder Years - The Complete Series hasn't been given yet, but it is now available to pre-order and will be coming some time in early October. It will be available in two configurations, a standard $249.95 release and a Wonder Years Experience configuration that includes a few extras, for $299.95. For the biggest fans, there is also a $499.95 Signature Edition, in which your set is autographed by the cast members.
  • If you missed the previous releases of The Office on DVD, Universal will be offering them all in one package on October 7 with their release of The Office - The Complete Series. There does not appear to be a Blu-ray version in the works (most likely since there were never any Blu-ray releases for the earlier seasons).

Claim to Fame: Tyler James Williams began his acting career at age four, and by age eight, he played the voice of Bobby (at least temporarily) on the series Little Bill. From there, he went on to Sesame Street for a few years, where he played himself. But to the sitcom world, he was known for his role as Chris on the series Everybody Hates Chris. In the 2012-2013 season, he was a regular on the NBC series Go On, and since then, he has been playing in some guest roles on series and starring in several made-for-TV movies... but it seems likely that he'll be back as a star on a sitcom eventually.
