WB Issues 'Mama's Family' DVD Statement, 'Martin' S1 DVD in 2007; 'Gimme a Break' S2 Canada DVD Question

We first broke the news in our Mama's Family S1 DVD Review that the S1 DVD from Warner Bros. had syndicated episode prints. Now, TVShowsonDVD.com has found out why. Warner Bros. told them that they don't own the unedited versions of that show. That seems very strange. Maybe Joe Hamilton Productions or NBC own it? Who knows, but you can view Warner's statement by clicking here.
Speaking of Warner, one of their sitcoms is coming to DVD, but they are not releasing it, but their sister company HBO will. HBO will release Martin S1! The hit '90s sitcom starring Martin Lawrence. TVShowsonDVD.com also has that story for us.

Also, we reported that the S2 DVD of Gimme a Break! from VEI (in Canada) has been delayed until early 2007...while this is still the case, buyers on Amazon.ca have gotten an e-mail saying the product has shipped. This is very strange and I'm not sure what is happening. Other retailers are also reporting a Jan. 2007 street date for this set. VEI themselves told us that this set is delayed until then. So it remains to be seen what Amazon.ca is doing. We'll keep you posted.
