Dark Shadows 50th Anniversary on Decades Network; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of June 27, 2016)
Decades Network, the multicast TV network from Weigel Broadcasting Co. and CBS Television Stations, announced a special anniversary event marking the premiere of the gothic soap opera Dark Shadows. Scheduled for Monday, June 27, this anniversary tribute comes to Decades 50 years to the day of the first broadcast of Dark Shadows in 1966. Twelve of the series' most well-known shows will be featured, including the debut episodes of vampire Barnabas Collins. From the first notes of its distinctly haunting musical theme, to the innovative storylines that transformed daytime television, to its iconic cast of characters, Dark Shadows transported audiences to the mysterious town of Collinsport, Maine, and they never looked back. Decades remembers the premiere of this cult favorite with the 12 episodes that marked the beginning of the Barnabas storyline, one that propelled the daytime series to new heights. The episodes will be presented in groups of three at 9:00am ET, 3:00pm ET, 9:00pm ET and 3:00am ET. Log on to Decades.com to find out where to watch the Decades TV Network.
In addition to the selected Dark Shadows episodes, the Decades original one-hour daily series Through the Decades will present an exclusive interview with Steven August Papa, the proclaimed #1 lifetime fan of Dark Shadows, who shares his childhood love for the show and why he is still hooked many years later. They talk with Walter Podrazik, Television Curator at the Museum of Broadcast Communications in Chicago, about the show's place in TV history. The episode will also feature interviews with cast members Jonathan Frid (Barnabas Collins), Kathryn Leigh Scott (Maggie Evans) and Lara Parker (Angelique Bouchard Collins). Online, Decades.com will present the 1968 Dick Cavett interview with Jonathan Frid. Once thought lost, this rare audio recording is taken from an interview on The Dick Cavett Show not seen on television since it originally aired. The interview covers a variety of topics including the actor's thoughts on researching and playing the vampire Barnabas Collins, a memorable and chaotic press tour he took for publicity, fan mail influencing the show, and his rapport with actress and co-star Grayson Hall who played Dr. Julia Hoffman.

On Sunday, Sept. 25, 60 Minutes has its season premiere following NFL coverage at approx. 7:30 PM.
The following week has the season premieres of Criminal Minds and Code Black on Wednesday, Sept. 28 starting at 9pm. The CBS Sunday dramas return on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 8pm with NCIS: Los Angeles, then Madam Secretary and Elementary follow. CBS drama Scorpion returns with a two-hour premiere on Monday, Oct. 3 from 9-11pm, then it slides into its new time period of 10pm on Oct. 10. 2 Broke Girls returns with an one-hour premiere on Monday, Oct. 10 at 9pm, as The Odd Couple has its season premiere on Monday, Oct. 17 at 9:30pm. Sticking with Mondays, on Oct. 24, Kevin Can Wait slides up to 8:00 PM, leading into the series premiere of Man With a Plan starring Matt LeBlanc. And finally, CBS's Thursday night entertainment lineup returns Oct. 27 With The Big Bang Theory at 8:00 PM, new comedy The Great Indoors with Joel McHale at 8:30 PM, Mom at 9:00 PM, Life in Pieces at 9:30 PM and new medical drama Pure Genius at 10:00 PM with an ensemble cast starring Augustus Prew, Dermot Mulroney, Odette Annable, Reshma Shetty and Brenda Song.
The hit animated comedy series Archer has been renewed for three more seasons. Archer will return for an eight-episode season 8 in early 2017, followed by two additional eight-episode seasons. FX Networks has also reached a new overall production deal with Floyd County Productions. Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy that revolves around a former spy agency turned private investigation firm and the lives of its employees. The Figgis Agency presented all new challenges for the former spies in Season 7, the most difficult of which might have been the move to Los Angeles. Every seedy surveillance of a suspected adulterer or investigation into insurance fraud was actually just another excuse for the staff to undermine, sabotage and betray each other for personal gain.
The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin as the highly skilled and incredibly vain private eye "Sterling Archer;" Aisha Tyler as Archer's fellow detective and on-again-off-again girlfriend, "Lana Kane;" Jessica Walter as Archer's domineering mother and former spy agency director, "Malory Archer;" Chris Parnell as the agency owner and lead investigator "Cyril Figgis;" Judy Greer as the agency's loquacious, dingbat secretary, "Cheryl;" Amber Nash as the gruff but lovable muscle, "Pam Poovey;" Adam Reed as the gay voice of reason, "Ray Gillette;" and Lucky Yates as the firm's possibly mad scientist/possible clone of himself, "Krieger."

Alyssa Milano's Celebrity Renovation Special on FYI; Remembering Ann Morgan Guilbert
Don't miss FYI's one-hour special Celebrity Renovation, featuring TV star Alyssa Milano (and a friend to this website) on Saturday, June 25 at 8pm ET/PT on FYI. In this one-hour special, Alyssa Milano (Who's the Boss?, Charmed, Mistresses) surprises her assistant Kelly by completely renovating her home as she recovers from her battle with ovarian cancer. With a tight timeline of just six days, Alyssa quickly assembles a skilled team to execute the enormous renovation; including a top notch Hollywood interior designer and a local construction crew. Together, they turn Kelly's outdated space from drab to fab. Tacky tile floors turn into beautiful hardwood, a "rock wall" goes from an eyesore to a striking white marble fireplace and a depressing bar is transformed into a custom-made banquette breakfast table.
After six long and exhausting work days, with the team handling a laundry list of delays and disasters with creative design solutions, will the renovation be completed on time? And how will Kelly respond to all the changes? Tune in this Saturday at 8|7c only on FYI!
Actress Ann Morgan Guilbert, who was best known for her roles as Millie Helper in The Dick Van Dyke Show and as Yetta Rosenberg in The Nanny, has died. She died of cancer in Los Angeles on June 14. Ms. Guilbert was 87.
Guilbert appeared as Millie Helper in 61 episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show from 1961-1966 on CBS. Millie was married to Jerry (Jerry Paris), who was a dentist. They were the next-door neighbors and best friends of Rob and Laura Petrie (Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore). In 2004, she appeared in The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited reunion special on CBS.
She starred as Nora in all 10 episodes of the short-lived 1971 CBS sitcom The New Andy Griffith Show. Nora was the live-in sister of Lee Sawyer (Lee Meriwether), who was married to Andy Sawyer (Andy Griffith).
Guilbert starred as Theresa Fanelli in The Fanelli Boys, which aired on NBC for one season in 1990-1991. She was the mother of Anthony (Ned Eisenberg), Ronnie (Andy Hirsch), Frankie (Chris Meloni) and Dominic (Joe Pantoliano). Her tall, balding brother Father Angelo was played by Richard Libertini.
She later appeared as Yetta Rosenberg, Fran Fine's (Fran Drescher) doddering grandmother and Sylvia Fine's (Renee Taylor) mother, in 56 episodes of The Nanny from 1993-1999 on CBS. Although she appeared in all six seasons of the series, she received a starring credit only in the final season. In 2004, she appeared in The Nanny Reunion: A Nosh to Remember on Lifetime.
Some of her other sitcom guest appearances included My Three Sons, Hennesey, Hey, Landlord, Good Morning, World, The Andy Griffith Show, I Dream of Jeannie, Room 222, The Partridge Family, Love, American Style, On the Rocks, Maude, Barney Miller, Cheers, Newhart, Blossom, Home Improvement, Empty Nest, Seinfeld, Happily Divorced and Modern Family (as Cam's grandmother).
She had a recurring role as Birdy Lamb in the HBO comedy Getting On. Her final guest appearances were in two episodes of Life in Pieces in February and March.
Survivors include her daughters, actress Hallie Todd (Lizzie McGuire) and Nora Eckstein, a writer, actress and acting teacher.
Ms. Guilbert was wonderful as Millie Helper and Yetta Rosenberg. She was always very funny and a scene stealer. She will be deeply missed.

A new, third-party presidential candidate has come out of the woodwork. A career politician who embraces his many strings attached. A child-friendly figure who freely admits to being wooden and stage-managed. An experienced on-camera personality who can always smile on cue. On July 4, the real fireworks will be found on COZI TV, where America's newest candidate for the oval office will announce his candidacy before a nationwide audience. He will offer his views on the issues of the day, the challenges facing our nation and perhaps most revealing, his unique perspective on the characters already headlining this year's campaign. Having run for office twice and won both times, Howdy Doody may be the most qualified candidate in the race.
On Independence Day, COZI TV will feature the return of the iconic television figure to America's living rooms from coast-to-coast. The day's Howdy Doody marathon will mark the first time these episodes aired on television in more than 50 years, since NBC aired the final episode on September 24, 1960. The July 4th marathon will also include a new compilation special, Howdy Doody for President, comprising segments from earlier shows where Howdy's run for president in 1948 and 1952 were featured. As part of the original content produced for the special, Howdy has some choice remarks about our current presidential candidates and the tone of the 2016 election. Additional original content introduces each episode in the marathon. The campaign special and Howdy Doody marathon will begin at 9 AM and continue to 3 PM on Monday, July 4 (check local listings). Nine episodes are scheduled for the marathon.
