Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! This is the week that we like to call "the week we tried," because it's perhaps the slowest news week of the year as we prepare for the new year. In the meantime, we do have some news about the most watched show of 2018 (it's not what you'd expect, or maybe it is) and a few new programming acquisitions for networks in 2019. Let's get going!

Welcome to a special New Year's style edition of the News Blog! As we end 2018 and start 2019, today we will give you a marathon recap on TV for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day! Some of the major TV stunts include Antenna TV's The Paul Lynde Show Year's Eve Marathon on New Year's Eve from from 6pm-3:30am and once again a New Year Kick-off with Coach marathon on New Year's Day from 5am-4am. COZI TV will have a launch marathon of The Office on New Year's Day, as we mentioned starting at 10am. Syfy has its 23rd annual Twilight Zone New Year's Eve and Day marathon that starts a day early on Sunday, Dec. 30 at 11pm continuing through Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 6am. Encore Love has a Knight Rider marathon beginning at 8pm on New Year's Eve lasting through 9pm New Year's Day. IFC will have a Batman marathon as soon as the "bat time" strikes midnight to ring in 2019! WPIX in New York will of course have their annual The Honeymooners marathon starting at 11:59pm on New Year's Eve through 4pm on New Year's Day. Also in New York City, WLNY-TV 55/10 will have a marathon of The Odd Couple once again starting at 10pm on New Year's Eve night through 9pm on New Year's Day for the seventh straight year.

TV One has a New Year's Day marathon of Sanford & Son starting at 6am. Friends gets two marathons on New Year's Eve, one on TBS from 8am-1pm then Nick at Nite from 9pm-5:30am. TV Land will go with The Goldbergs marathon on New Year's Eve from 2pm-6pm into a marathon of Two and a Half Men from 6pm-2am. TBS airs a Family Guy block on New Year's Eve from 5pm-11pm. FXX will bring us another marathon of The Simpsons that starts on New Year's Eve at 6pm and runs through New Year's Day at 11:59pm. Comedy Central ends the year with a Reno 911 marathon on New Year's Eve starting at 9am. USA Network has a Law & Order: SVU Resolve to Watch New Year's Eve and Day marathon starting at 12am on New Year's Eve. Escape launches Law & Order and Boston Legal with a New Year's Day launch. AMC goes for a marathon of The Walking Dead on New Year's Eve from 9am-5:30am. WGN America has a marathon of In the Heat of the Night from 8am-7pm. Other notable marathons on New Year's Eve includes Sex and the City on E!, Criminal Minds on both ION and WEtv, CSI: Miami on WEtv earlier in the day and Doctor Who on BBC America.

It won't be the end of the year and the start of the year without ABC's Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2019 special on New Year's Eve from 8pm-10pm, followed by its annual specials at 10pm and 11:30pm. NBC and Fox air their own New Year's Eve specials hosted by Carson Daly and Steve Harvey, respectively. Movie wise, Pop, TNT, TBS, Freeform and many others will air movies on New Year's Day, while Hallmark Channel continues to air Christmas movies on New Year's Eve. Tune in Monday and Tuesday for all of this!

As we mentioned, The Office is coming to COZI TV starting January 1, but now we can share the full COZI TV January 2019 lineup. The Office will air Sunday through Fridays from 10pm-12am. The Nanny remains from 12-2am on M-F, while Will & Grace moves to 2-4am. Will & Grace airs 12-2am on Sunday nights. Among the series returning from hiatus are Dragnet, Lassie, The Lone Ranger and Quantum Leap. With the addition of The Office and these series coming back, the series off the lineup now are The Munsters, Miami Vice, Quincy M.E., The Virginian, Wyatt Earp, The Real McCoys, Murdoch Mysteries and Alias Smith & Jones.

The weekday schedule has now detective series from 8am-1pm, leading into Cozi staple Murder, She Wrote from 1-4pm. Detective series are Magnum P.I., The Rockford Files, two-hour Columbo, and Hart to Hart. Following Murder, Little House on the Prairie is now 4-7pm leading into Frasier from 7-10pm. As mentioned earlier, Dragnet is returning to the lineup, to compliment the new Saturday '70s lineup of Dragnet, Adam-12, Emergency, The Bionic Woman and The Six Million Dollar Man from 2-8pm. Sundays features the '80s with back-to-back hours of Magnum P.I., The A-Team and Quantum Leap from 1-7pm. Those are just some of the changes! View the entire COZI TV January 2019 schedule.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries presents two all-new movie premieres in January, 2019. The movies star TV staples (and Hallmark vets) Jill Wagner and Taylor Cole. The duo of whodunnits starts with Ruby Herring Mysteries: Silent Witness on Sunday, January 20 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, followed by Mystery 101 on Sunday, January 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. In Ruby Herring Mysteries: Silent Witness starring Taylor Cole (The Originals, Summerland), Stephen Huszar (Paradise Falls) and Shawn Christian, while attending her sister's wedding at a resort in the mountains outside Seattle, TV consumer reporter Ruby Herring (Cole) becomes involved in a murder mystery when an old family friend drowns under suspicious circumstances. Encouraged by her dad, legendary investigative crime reporter John Herring (Christian), Ruby conducts her own unorthodox investigation, to the consternation of Jake Killian (Huszar), the handsome, by-the-book Seattle P.D. homicide detective assigned to the case.

In Mystery 101 starring Jill Wagner (Wipeout, Hallmark's Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa) and Kristoffer Polaha (Life Unexpected, Hallmark's Pearl in Paradise), Amy (Wagner) is an expert in whodunnits and sizing people up, so when she meets detective Travis (Polaha), investigating a plant theft, Amy deduces he's new in town and divorced by his accent and missing wedding band. Though Travis can't discuss his investigation, he and Amy banter playfully while she waits for her student Lacey, who doesn't show. Fearing Lacey is in trouble when her boyfriend turns up dead, and connecting a colleague's "suicide" with the plant theft, Amy unravels both mysteries, and risks her life. Now Travis must sleuth fast, or his blooming romance with Amy could die on the vine.

Usher in the New Year with laughter as The King of Queens joins Nick at Nite beginning Tuesday, Jan. 1, at 4 a.m. (ET/PT). The series follows a blue-collared couple who fight the odds to keep it together with plenty of laughs. Following the series launch, the nine-season, 207-episode library of The King of Queens will continue to air regularly on Nick at Nite.

The King of Queens is set in Rego Park, Queens, New York, and follows Doug, a deliveryman, and his wife Carrie, a secretary at a law firm, who both live with Carrie's oddball father, Arthur. They try to make the best of what they got while striving to keep their marriage somewhat normal and getting through tiny problems that they have together, even the occasional run-in with Carrie's father. The King of Queens stars Kevin James (Hitch), Leah Remini (Old School) and Jerry Stiller (Zoolander) as Arthur.

Nick at Nite will also air The Office starting Jan. 1 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Nick at Nite is Nickelodeon's nighttime programming block featuring popular hit family comedies, including the Emmy Award-winning series Friends, as well as George Lopez and Mom.

The Office stars Steve Carell as Michael Scott, Ed Helms as Andy Bernard, John Krasinski as Jim Halpert, Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute, Jenna Fischer as Pam Beesly, BJ Novak as Ryan Howard, Mindy Kaling as Kelly Kapoor, Ellie Kemper as Erin Hannon and Craig Robinson as Darryl Philbin, among others.

Netflix has ordered the dark comedy series Bonding from Rightor Doyle. Zoe Levin and Brendan Scannell are set to star in this series. Bonding centers on the relationship between former high-school BFFs, Pete, a recently out gay man, and Tiff, a grad student and secretly one of New York City's top dominatrixes, who reconnect in an unexpected way years later. The dark comedy is loosely based on the life experiences of Rightor Doyle (Barry, You're the Worst, Nerve), who serves as writer, director, showrunner, and executive producer. In the comedy series, Zoe Levin (Palo Alto, The Way Way Back) stars as Tiff, Brendan Scannell (Heathers) stars as Pete, Micah Stock (Escape at Dannemora) stars as Doug, D'Arcy Carden (The Good Place) stars as Daphne, Eric Berryman (Empathy, Inc.) stars as Andy and Theo Stockman (High Maintenance) stars as Josh.

We have some news, too! Comedy Central announced it has acquired all seven seasons of the Peabody Award-winning and Emmy-nominated Universal Television series Parks and Recreation, which will make its Comedy Central debut with an all-day marathon on Monday, January 21, 2019 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day). Select episodes will be available to stream on cc.com and the CC App. From Deedle-Dee Productions, Fremulon, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Universal Television, Parks and Recreation stars Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope, Aziz Ansari as Tom Haverford, Nick Offerman as Ron Swanson, Rashida Jones as Ann Perkins, Chris Pratt as Andy Dwyer, Aubrey Plaza as April Ludgate, and Rob Lowe as Chris Traeger, among others. The series is a hilarious ensemble comedy that follows Knope, a mid-level bureaucrat in the Parks and Recreation Department of Pawnee, Indiana, and her tireless efforts to make her quintessentially American town just a little bit more fun.

Welcome to a special Christmas marathon style edition of the News Blog! That means we will recap all of the holiday episode stunts, marathons and holiday movie stunts on TV this holiday on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Some of the major TV stunts we mentioned already were Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas 2018 edition, concluding on Tuesday after 25 days. That is always a fan favorite pick of course! Some of the stuff that will air on Christmas Eve and Day on Freeform include The Santa Clause and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. However, our pick of the marathons is once again on Antenna TV! Starting today they have a "Christmas Collection" marathon beginning at 5am on Christmas Eve through 5am Christmas Day. Then will have a "Christmas Through the Years" marathon on Christmas Day running from 10am-4am. Shows airing during these two events include What's Happening!! to Archie Bunker's Place to The Hogan Family to Three's Company! The MeTV Network will also have holiday episodes of their series like Diff'rent Strokes and The Jeffersons on Christmas Day, as they have had all month on Sundays. It's a Christmas conundrum! COZI TV had its A Very Cozi Christmas marathon on Dec. 14 and holiday episodes air on Christmas Eve and Day with shows like Little House, Frasier, and Will & Grace. getTV has sitcoms on Christmas Day with holiday episodes of Sanford & Son, All in the Family, Married...with Children and The Steve Harvey Show.

Some of the other stuff includes TV Land, which will have holiday episodes of its series on Christmas Day, but it's not being called its annual Merrython again, but look for holiday episodes of The Andy Griffith Show, Two and a Half Men, The Goldbergs, M*A*S*H and Everybody Loves Raymond all on Christmas Eve and Day. Christmas episodes of The Facts of Life and Mama's Family on Christmas Eve and Day will be just some of the items you will see on Logo. BBC America has a Doctor Who marathon that has already started and lasting all the way to New Year's Day! USA Network has a Modern Family marathon on Christmas Eve starting at 11am lasting through 8pm. Comedy Central goes for laughs of course with its 31 Days of Holiday Survival, with The Office today on Christmas Eve from 9am-12am. AMC has the Rankin/Bass specials, as they have had all month long.

For the 22nd year in a row Turner will have its annual A Christmas Story (1983) 24-hour movie marathon on TBS from 8pm Christmas Eve through 8pm Christmas night! TNT will also air the stunt! TBS will air a Friends marathon today from 8am-1pm as well! E! will air a Parks & Recreation marathon today from 6:30am-33:30pm on Xmas Eve. The Simpsons get ready for Christmas on Christmas Eve with a marathon on FXX from 6pm-12am tonight, while when the clock strikes midnight on Syfy, they will air a Christmas Day 24-hour marathon of Futurama. VH-1 will once again air a Fresh Prince marathon from 8am-4pm on Christmas Day.

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! We're entering into an extended holiday weekend with Christmas coming up on Tuesday, but as has been the case so often in recent weeks, the news isn't as slow as it typically has been around this time of the year in years past! This week, we're hearing about another reboot of Beverly Hills, 90210 (one that fans of the original series may appreciate this time), the cancellation of an NBC summer comedy, and more. Let's get going!

It's time for another edition of Fri-Yay! That means we will take a look back on some sitcom happenings in recent days or weeks or other fun sitcomy stuff. It's a sitcom lover's paradise! Happy Fri-Yay!

Last week, Comedy Central cancelled both Detroiters and Another Period. It was, frankly, a shame - both shows, particularly Detroiters, were truly weird, funny, and creative in ways the best Comedy Central shows are. As Comedy Central cancels these two series and also looks to the end of Broad City next year, it leaves me wondering: what does the future look like for the comedy-focused cable network? For the past five years or so, the network has enjoyed something of a creative renaissance, with shows like Broad City, Review, Nathan for You, Inside Amy Schumer, Another Period and Detroiters giving the network a lot of excellent, creative series and allowing it a reputation for being a home for daring and experimental comedy. Now, though, most of those shows have either been cancelled (Review, Nathan for You, Detroiters, Another Period), will be ending soon (Broad City) or on a seemingly never-ending hiatus (Inside Amy Schumer).

So what's left? Well, the network still has Corporate, which is in a similar vein as the network's past shows, but other than that...it certainly seems as if it may be moving away from the constant stream of high-quality originals it once had. It's unfortunate, especially for a show like Detroiters, cut down in its prime. There is currently an online movement to get another network to pick up Detroiters - and while it seems like a bit of a long shot for a small scale cult hit, I'm hoping that zany comedy like Detroiters can find a home somewhere.




The sixteenth season of The Voice will premiere on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 8:00-10:00pm ET/PT with new coach John Legend joining Kelly, Blake and Adam on the panel. It will be followed on Monday nights by The Enemy Within, the new drama starring Jennifer Carpenter and Morris Chestnut at 10:00pm ET/PT. Both will air through May 20. The Voice will also air on Tuesdays from 8:00–9:00pm ET/PT through March 5. On February 26, it will be followed by the third season premiere of World of Dance from 9:00–11:00pm ET/PT. The Voice will return to Tuesday nights when live episodes begin on April 23 and will air from 8:00–9:00pm ET/PT through the rest of the season thru May 21.

World of Dance moves to its normal time period Sunday, March 3 where it will air from 8:00–10:00pm ET/PT followed by the second season of Good Girls at 10:00pm ET/PT through May 12. The second season of comedy A.P. Bio will premiere on Thursday, March 7 at 8:30pm ET/PT where it will air through May 16. Following This Is Us on Tuesday, March 12, NBC will premiere the new drama The Village at 10:00pm ET/PT. It will air in that time period following the remaining three episodes of This Is Us and then will move to 9:00PM ET/PT from April 2-May 14 followed by New Amsterdam which is at 10:00pm ET/PT.

Antenna TV has released its first quarter 2019 schedule that begins on January 2. There will be no new series joining the lineup, but many series will have new time periods and a few shows will be on hiatus. Small Wonder returns, airing Sundays from 12-1pm. Taking a break in Q1 2019 will be Webster, What's Happening!!, What's Happening Now!! and Good Morning World. Among the series moving timeslots include Johnny Carson heading back to 10pm, while Three's Company moves back into late fringe at 11pm & 11:30pm (with an early morning encore from 5-6am). There are other late fringe and overnight changes including Coach and Murphy Brown from 12-1am. In the early evening, Archie Bunker's Place will double-up now from 7-8pm, while 227 and Maude also get two runs from 4:30-5:30pm and 6-7pm, respectively. Weekends will get the most changes to the schedule. Almost everything from 1pm and on has a new timeslot, including The Hogan Family from 1-2pm, Head of the Class from 2-3pm, Family Ties from 3-4pm and Silver Spoons from 4-5pm.

Saturday nights in primetime get '70s fever with Three's Company, Barney Miller and Soap from 7-10pm leading into 90-minute editions of Johnny Carson. The new Sunday primetime features Coach, My Two Dads and Growing Pains from 7-10pm. Early mornings on weekends will remain intact from 5-9am, but with Jack Benny Program now at 6:30am. Before this schedule starts, Antenna TV celebrates the end of 2018 with a New Year's Eve of The Paul Lynde Show from 6pm-3:30am. Moving from Friday to Sunday night, High Maintenance returns for its nine-episode third season Sunday, Jan. 20 from 10:30-11:05 p.m. ET/PT. Created by Katja Blichfeld (who directs the season premiere) and Ben Sinclair, the critically acclaimed show uses The Guy, a marijuana dealer (played by Sinclair), to tell a variety of stories about New York lives, including his own. High Maintenance continues to paint a uniquely authentic portrait of New York with empathy and insight, telling amusing, surprising, sometimes moving and always poignant tales of denizens who are usually just faces on the crowded sidewalks of Brooklyn. The series is executive produced by Katja Blichfeld (Emmy(R)-winning casting director of 30 Rock), Ben Sinclair (Home Again, Sisters) and Russell Gregory.

This season, High Maintenance profiles everyday people whose stories of success, failure, love and loss intersect across New York, while delving deeper into personal life of The Guy, who is spending less time on his iconic bicycle and more time in "Steve RV," a set of wheels gifted to him last season. Featuring an intricate web of memorable returning characters and unforgettable new faces, the new episodes find New Yorkers exploring their relationship with the city, touching on such themes as death, parenthood, sexuality, fantasy, aging and more. Returning guest stars this season include: Amy Ryan, Gary Richardson, Arthur Meyer, Jen Harris, Micah Sherman and Abdullah Saeed. New guest stars this season include: Jemima Kirke, Margaret Cho, Guillermo Diaz, Rosie Perez, Kathleen Chalfant, Ken Leung and Annie Golden.

Actress, director and producer Penny Marshall, who starred as Laverne DeFazio in Laverne & Shirley, has died. She died in Los Angeles from complications of diabetes on December 17. Ms. Marshall was 75.

Marshall's early sitcom guest appearances included That Girl, Love, American Style, Barefoot in the Park, Getting Together, The Super and The Bob Newhart Show. Her early drama guest appearances included My Friend Tony, Then Came Bronson, The Magical World of Disney and Banacek.

She appeared in the recurring role of Myrna Turner, Oscar Madison's secretary, in 27 episodes of The Odd Couple on ABC from 1972 to 1974. It was developed and executive produced by her brother, Garry Marshall. The cast included Tony Randall, Jack Klugman, Al Molinaro, Garry Walberg and Larry Gelman. She reprised the role in the 1993 CBS TV movie The Odd Couple: Together Again.

Marshall starred as Janice Dreyfuss in the short lived 1974-1975 CBS sitcom Paul Sand in Friends and Lovers. Janice was Charlie's affection-starved wife who constantly mocked Robert for his romantic failures. The series also starred Paul Sand, Michael Pataki, Dick Wesson, Steve Landesberg, Craig Richard Nelson and Jack Gilford.

She first appeared as Laverne DeFazio in the November 11, 1975, episode of Happy Days titled A Date with Fonzie. Laverne and Shirley Feeney (Cindy Williams) were a pair of wise-cracking brewery workers, who were dates for Fonzie (Henry Winkler) and Richie (Ron Howard). After the success of their appearance, Garry Marshall decided to create a spin-off series for them.

Marshall starred as Laverne DeFazio for 8 seasons and 178 episodes on Laverne & Shirley on ABC from 1976 to 1983. Laverne and Shirley were two friends and roommates who worked as bottle-cappers in the fictitious Shotz Brewery in late 1950s Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Laverne was a tough-talking tomboy who grew up in Brooklyn. Her favorite drink was milk and pepsi. She was known for the script letter "L" monogrammed on her shirts and sweaters. The series also starred Eddie Mekka, Phil Foster, David L. Lander, Michael McKean, Betty Garrett (1976-1981), Carole Ita White (1976-1977), Ed Marinaro (1980-1981) and Leslie Easterbrook (1980-1983).

She received three nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy for her role. Marshall appeared as Laverne in five other episodes of Happy Days, one episode of Blansky's Beauties and the pilot episode of Mork & Mindy. She voiced the character in the animated series Laverne & Shirley in the Army and the Mork & Mindy/Laverne & Shirley/Fonz Hour.

Marshall directed four episodes of Laverne & Shirley. Some of her other sitcom directing credits included Working Stiffs, A League of Their Own, According to Jim and United States of Tara.

Some of her other sitcom guest appearances included The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Chico and the Man, Good Heavens, Taxi, I'm with Her, Entourage, Campus Ladies, The Game, Sam & Cat (reunited with Cindy Williams), Mulaney and The Odd Couple (2016). She had voice credits for The Simpsons, Frasier and The Life & Times of Tim.

She appeared in many TV movies including The Feminist and the Fuzz, Evil Roy Slade, The Crooked Hearts, The Couple Takes a Wife, Let's Switch!, Wives, More Than Friends (with Rob Reiner), Love Thy Neighbor (with John Ritter), Challenge of a Lifetime, Jackie's Back! and Women Without Men. Some of her film credits included The Savage Seven, How Sweet It Is!, The Grasshopper, Movers & Shakers, Hocus Pocus, The Hard Way and Alice Upside Down.

Marshall also had much success as film director. She made her directorial debut in 1986 with Jumpin' Jack Flash. In 1988, Big became the first film directed by a woman to gross more than $100 million at the U.S. box office. Her other film directing credits included Awakenings (1990, nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture), A League of Their Own (1995), Renaissance Man (1994), The Preacher's Wife (1996) and Riding in Cars with Boys (2001). She worked as executive producer on Awakenings, A League of Their Own, Calendar Girl, Renaissance Man, Cinderella and Bewitched.

She was interviewed for The Interviews: An Oral History of Television on August 7, 2013.

Ms. Marshall was in a league of her own as an actress and director. She was very funny and memorable with her physical comedy and delivery of lines in her iconic role as Laverne. We thank her for the many laughs and hours of entertainment she brought us during her long career. It's sad that we've lost the brother and sister duo of Garry and Penny in the last two years. She will be deeply missed.

MeTV Network pays tribute to the career and comedy of beloved actress and director Penny Marshall with a special presentation of Laverne & Shirley episodes airing on MeTV this Sunday, December 23 beginning at 2:00pm ET/PT through 6:00pm ET/PT. In a March 2015 interview with MeTV, Marshall shared her favorite Laverne & Shirley episodes. As a tribute to her enduring character Laverene DeFazio, MeTV has scheduled six of these memorable episodes, along with two special holiday-themed episodes, to create a special four-hour afternoon celebration of memorable and hilarious comedy for the whole family. Episodes airing from 2-6pm are: 2:00pm-2:30pm: "Fakeout at the Stakeout," "Bridal Shower," "Guinea Pigs," "Steppin' Out," "Airport '59," "Supermarket Sweep," "Christmas Eve at the Booby Hatch," and "Oh, Come All Ye Bums."

Conan O'Brien debuts new 30-minute format show starting January 22 for Conan, ushering in a new era of multi-platform comedy with Team Coco. The longest-tenured host in late-night will return for his ninth season on TBS and 26th year on television, debuting a new thirty-minute format four nights a week in its regular timeslot starting on January 22, 2019 at 11pm. The revamped late-night show and expanded Team Coco fan experience will define a new era in multi-platform comedy. The show's new format will continue to feature celebrity guests and Conan's signature brand of comedy, which has made him one of the world's most popular hosts across both digital and linear platforms. Conan continues to evolve the genre by challenging conventions, taking creative risks and discovering and fostering new comedic talent.

American Dad! returns to TBS on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 10pm ET/ PT. American Dad! centers on super patriotic CIA agent Stan Smith (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) and the misadventures of his unconventional family in Langley Falls, VA. Stan applies the same drastic measures used in his job at the CIA to his home life, where Stan's blissfully unaware wife, Francine (Wendy Schaal), has an unfaltering loyalty that makes her blind to his unabashed arrogance. His left-wing activist daughter Hayley (Rachael MacFarlane), however, doesn’t let him off so easily – and knows just how to push her father's buttons. Hayley's brother is the geeky-yet-confident Steve (Scott Grimes), a kid who spends his time playing video games and obsessing about the opposite sex.

The Smith cabinet is rounded out by two rather unconventional members: Roger (MacFarlane), a sassy, sarcastic and routinely inappropriate space alien, and Klaus (Dee Bradley Baker), an attention-starved goldfish with the brain of a German Olympic skier. The irreverent, satirical, award-winning animated comedy is created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman, executive-produced by co-showrunner Brian Boyle along with creators MacFarlane and Weitzman. The series premiered on the Fox broadcasting network in 2005 before moving to TBS in 2014. The top 10 cable comedy continues to be a key performer for the network, with the first half of the season reaching 12 million viewers across linear, VOD and TBD digital platforms.

Construction is underway at The Brady Bunch house and HGTV's digital platforms now offer an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at every step of the renovation. The network has launched its "Brady Renovation Central" at HGTV.com/Brady where fans can find in-depth articles, exciting video content, photo galleries, show updates and more. The site also offers a first look at The Brady Bunch home renovation in a digital video series, Building Brady. One of the most beloved comedies in television history will light up the airwaves starting on New Year's Eve, Monday, December 31 at 10:00 p.m. and ending on New Year's Day, Tuesday, January 1 at 9:00 p.m. when WLNY-TV (Channels 10/55) in New York City presents The Odd Couple marathon. The marathon will include 46 episodes from the classic series, culminating with the 1975 "To Bowl or Not to Bowl" episode, featuring Felix and Oscar's bowling team battling for the championship (8:00 p.m.) and the 1975 "Felix Remarries" episode when Felix convinces his ex-wife to remarry him (8:30 p.m.). WLNY's The Odd Couple marathon will also feature the 1973 "The Ides of April" episode where Felix inadvertently gets Oscar called in for an audit from the IRS (6:30 p.m.) and 1973's "Take My Furniture Please" episode where both Felix and Oscar take turns redecorating their apartment (6:00 p.m.).

The ABC Television Network has ordered additional episodes of many hit comedies. The comedies getting the more than 22 episode treatment are black-ish, The Goldbergs, The Kids Are Alright and Single Parents for the current 2018-2019 season. Additional episode orders are as follows:

black-ish (Tuesdays, 9:00-9:30 p.m.) - 2 episodes (total of 24 episodes)
In its 5th season on the network, ABC's black-ish was created by Kenya Barris and is executive produced by Barris, Jonathan Groff, Kenny Smith, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland, E. Brian Dobbins, Gail Lerner, Courtney Lilly and Lindsey Shockley. The series is produced by ABC Studios.

The Goldbergs (Wednesdays, 8:00-8:30 p.m.) - 1 episode (total of 23 episodes)
Adam F. Goldberg, Doug Robinson, Alex Barnow, Chris Bishop, Lew Schneider, David Guarascio and Andrew Secunda are executive producers of The Goldbergs, in its 6th season on the network. "The Goldbergs" is produced by Happy Madison, Doug Robinson Productions and Adam F. Goldberg Productions, in association with Sony Pictures Television.

The Kids Are Alright (Tuesdays, 8:31-9:00 p.m.) - 1 episode (total of 23 episodes)
New series The Kids Are Alright is from ABC Studios. From creator and executive producer Tim Doyle (Last Man Standing, The Real O'Neals), the series is inspired by Doyle's childhood. Randall Einhorn is also an executive producer.

Single Parents (Wednesdays, 9:31-10:00 p.m.) - 1 episode (total of 23 episodes)
Freshmen comedy Single Parents is from 20th Century Fox Television and ABC Studios. JJ Philbin and Elizabeth Meriwether are creators and executive producers. Katherine Pope, Erin O'Malley and Jason Winer are also executive producers.

American Housewife already had an extra episode picked-up earlier this season, for a total of 23 episodes, while Splitting Up Together got 5 extra episodes on its original order (18 total episodes). The other ABC comedies, which includes Modern Family, Fresh off the Boat and Speechless will air 22 episodes each. The Connors ends its first season 11-episode run in late January. ABC has two all-new mid-season comedies coming in Schooled (13 episodes) and Bless this Mess (6 episodes).
