Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Final 4-Part Event; Hulu's Deli Boys Returns May 28

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, the continuation of the Emmy® Award-winning Wizards of Waverly Place, returns for one last spell this summer on Disney+, Disney Channel and Disney Channel On Demand. The four-part event goes into production next week. Executive producer Selena Gomez to make her directorial debut with the premiere episode. She will also reprise her role as Alex Russo in multiple episodes.

Billie, still reeling from losing Alex at the end of Season 2, discovers that the only way to rescue her mother is to reunite with her long-lost father. As her family bands together to find Alex, Billie realizes that their combined power is the only way the Russos can defeat the evil plaguing them. Onyx Collective announced that the second season of Hulu's acclaimed comedy series Deli Boys, produced by 20th Television, will premiere May 28 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S. and on Disney+ internationally.

Andrew Rannells and Kumail Nanjiani join as recurring guest stars for the second season, alongside series regulars Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, Poorna Jagannathan and Fred Armisen. New guest cast includes Lilly Singh and Robin Thede. Tan France set to return as fan-favorite British crime mobster Zubair.

Crutch Premieres November 3 on Paramount+; Trailer for Season 2 of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place

Paramount+ announced that the new original comedy series Crutch, starring Tracy Morgan, will premiere on Monday, November 3. Produced by CBS Studios, all eight episodes of the series will be available to stream exclusively on Paramount+ at launch.

Set in the world of the CBS Original Comedy The Neighborhood, Crutch centers on its titular character Francois "Frank" Crutchfield (Morgan), who goes by "Crutch," a brash, yet beloved Harlem shop owner whose world is turned upside down when his highbrow son and free-spirited daughter move back into the family home.

Crutch also stars Jermaine Fowler (Superior Donuts), Tony Award winner Kecia Lewis (Hell's Kitchen), Adrianna Mitchell (Snowfall), Adrian Martinez (The Amateur), Braxton Paul (Sesame Street) and Finn Maloney (Suncoast).

In a special event within The Neighborhood universe, Morgan will also guest star as "Crutch" in an all-new episode of the hit CBS comedy The Neighborhood, airing the same night, Monday, November 3 (8:00 - 8:30 PM ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ Premium plan subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs).

"Welcome to Family Value" - Calvin (Cedric The Entertainer) reaches out to his cousin Crutch (Tracy Morgan) to get Malcolm (Sheaun McKinney) a sweet deal on a new floor. However, Crutch insists on coming to L.A. to oversee the work himself, where he drives Tina (Tichina Arnold) crazy — and reveals an emotional vulnerability.

Prime Video turned up the heat by revealing the first look images for the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty. Antenna TV announced it will air the "Father Knows Best 70th Anniversary Marathon" featuring two days of Father Knows Best on Father's Day Weekend, starting Saturday, June 15 at 6 pm. Disney Channel Orders Wizards of Waverly Place Revival; Paramount+ Animated Comedy Ark: The Animated Series

Disney Channel announced a series greenlight for Wizards (working title), a continuation of the Emmy® Award-winning Wizards of Waverly Place, one of the most beloved franchises in the network's history. From Disney Branded Television, production on the new series begins next month in Los Angeles and is slated to premiere later this year on Disney Channel and Disney+.

Aimed at kids and their families, the new series reunites two-time Emmy and Golden Globe® Award-nominated Selena Gomez and David Henrie as Alex and Justin Russo, respectively, who also serve as executive producers. Gomez will guest star in the premiere episode, while Henrie will appear in a leading series-regular role.

Paramount+ announced that the first six episodes of Ark: The Animated Series, an all-new original series based on the hit adventure video game ARK: Survival Evolved, are available to stream now exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada. The series will debut in all other Paramount+ international markets starting Friday, April 19. Part two of the season will debut with seven new episodes at a later date.

Disney Channel Orders Second Season of Time Travel Comedy; Selena Gomez Returning for 3rd Season of HBO Max Series

Disney Channel has picked up a second season of its time-travel half-hour mystery series, Secrets of Sulphur Springs. Since its Jan. 15 premiere, the series has reached 8.4 million total viewers, ranked as the #1 series across all television with Girls 6-11, and the #1 live-action series on DisneyNow. Filmed and set in Louisiana, the first season of Secrets of Sulphur Springs followed 12-year-old Griffin Campbell (Preston Oliver), whose world has been upended by his father, Ben (Josh Braaten), after he moves the family from Chicago to take ownership of an abandoned hotel property, The Tremont. Now, the family—which also includes Griffin's mother, Sarah (Kelly Frye), and his younger twin siblings, Wyatt (Landon Gordon) and Zoey (Madeleine McGraw)—live in The Tremont in hopes of restoring it to the lively vacation destination it once was. On his first day at his new school, Griffin hears rumors that the hotel is haunted by the ghost of Savannah (Elle Graham), a girl who disappeared decades ago. He soon meets and befriends Harper (Kyliegh Curran), a thrill-seeking classmate, and they discover a secret portal that allows them to travel back in time and uncover clues about the town mystery.

Season two will take a deeper look into Harper's family history and their connection to The Tremont hotel. What will start as a fact-finding mission will soon turn into a high-stakes adventure that could forever change her friendship with Griffin. The first season of Secrets of Sulphur Springs is currently streaming on Disney+ and available in DisneyNow. HBO Max announced that global superstar Selena Gomez's cooking show Selena + Chef has been renewed for a third season. Selena Gomez of course got her big break on the Disney Channel comedy The Wizards of Waverly Place and it returning to the comedy world in Only Murders in the Building on Hulu. New episodes of the unscripted series will premiere later this year, exclusively on HBO Max. The series is executive produced by Gomez for July Moon Productions, along with executive producers Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman, and Leah Hariton on behalf of Industrial Media's The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) and Melissa Stokes. The first season had 10 episodes in August 2020 and the second season had 9 episodes in January 2021. In season three, Selena will continue her cooking adventures at home with a new roster of all-star chefs that will help her whip up delicious dishes. Like in its first two seasons, each chef will highlight a different charity each episode. To date, the series has raised $360,000 for 23 nonprofit organizations.
