NBC Midseason 2025 Schedule; Apple TV+ Announces The Studio

NBC heads into 2025 with the launch of new dramas, including the highly anticipated Suits LA from creator Aaron Korsh; The Hunting Party, starring Melissa Roxburgh (Manifest); and Grosse Pointe Garden Society, a soapy mystery from Jenny Bans and Bill Krebs, as well as the launch of the spectacular new 10-part special event nature documentary The Americas, narrated by Tom Hanks with music by Oscar winner Hans Zimmer -- all three will air on Sundays beginning February 23. Returning to the NBC lineup, to the excitement of its immense fan base, is #OneChicago. The Windy City trifecta begins Wednesday, January 8 with Chicago Med at 8 p.m., following by Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. Reba McEntire's Happy's Place and Lopez vs. Lopez continue to bring the laughs on Friday, January 3 at 8 and 8:30 p.m., respectively through Febrary 7. Funny business continues Tuesday, January 14 with freshman sensation St. Denis Medical, starring Wendi McLendon-Covey, David Alan Grier and Allison Tolman, and Night Court, starring Melissa Rauch and John Larroquette, at 8 and 8:30 p.m., respectively going into May.
Rock superstar and longtime coach Adam Levine returns to his swiveling red chair, to be joined by country phenom Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé and John Legend, when the new season of The Voice returns Monday, February 3. In what promises to be one of the highlights in all of television next year, SNL will mark its 50th anniversary with a celebratory weekend culminating in a live primetime special on Sunday, February 16, which will also be simulcast on Peacock. In addition to their curated linear timeslots, all shows will be available to stream next day on Peacock. Current dramas Brilliant Minds and The Irrational will wrap up on January 13 and March 25, respectively, while Deal or No Deal Island goes through April 1 before The Voice Tuesday returns April 8. Thursday dramas Law & Order, SVU & Found will run through May. Previously announced or renewed shows that have yet to be scheduled include Destination X and The Wall.

Apple TV+ unveiled a glimpse at its highly anticipated upcoming comedy The Studio, and announced that the new 10-episode half hour comedy starring Seth Rogen, who also serves as writer, director and executive producer alongside Emmy Award-nominee Evan Goldberg, is officially set to make its global debut on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, followed by one episode every Wednesday through May 21, 2025.
In The Studio, Seth Rogen stars as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of embattled Continental Studios. As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their own insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films. With their power suits masking their neverending sense of panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting, and award show presents them with an opportunity for glittering success or career-ending catastrophe. As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes movies, it's the job Matt's been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him. The Studio assembles a star-studded ensemble cast that also includes Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe Award-winner Catherine O’Hara, Emmy Award-nominee Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz and Chase Sui Wonders. Academy Award-nominee and Emmy Award-winner Bryan Cranston will appear as a guest star.

TCA Winter 2024 Press Tour: Peacock, Syfy and NBC

At NBCUniversal's TCA presentation, Peacock announced the straight-to-series order of four new scripted projects from Universal Studio Group: Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy, a limited series from the producers of Dr. Death and NBC News Studios, based on the harrowing exploits of one of America's most notorious serial killers and the rigorous investigation that ultimately brought him down; All Her Fault, a suburban-thriller limited series, adapted from the best-selling novel of the same name, which opens on a plausibly terrifying situation that eventually unearths the deep secrets of a wealthy Chicago community; Untitled James Wan & Simu Liu Project, an original espionage techno-thriller series from James Wan and starring Simu Liu; and Mr. Throwback, a mockumentary comedy series starring NBA legend Stephen Curry and Adam Pally.

SYFY kicks off its upcoming slate of original series with premiere dates for the second half of season three of Chucky (April 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT) and season two of Reginald the Vampire (May 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT) as well as a summer launch for season two of The Ark. In addition, fan-favorite horror drama SurrealEstate will return for a third season.
Stephen Amell has been cast in the NBC drama pilot Suits L.A. as Ted Black, a charismatic force of nature who puts his own needs above others. Ted is a former New York prosecutor who joined forces 15 years ago with his old buddy, Stuart Lane, to build an L.A. law firm that specializes in criminal and entertainment law. Stephen Amell most recently starred in the Starz critically acclaimed series Heels and will next be seen starring in the Netflix film Code: 8 Part II, which he also produced. He previously starred on the CW breakout hit Arrow, which launched what is now known as the Arrowverse.
In the pilot, Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can't help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved. Production: Scheduled to start in late March in Vancouver.
