SitcomsOnline Digest: Judith Light Cast in Role in Courteney Cox Starz Horror Comedy Series; Fox Renews HouseBroken for Second Season
Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! It's not a busy week as we prepare for the fall season, which is just a little over a month away, but we do have some casting news for an upcoming Starz comedy series, news of the renewal of a Fox animated comedy that likely went unnoticed by many, and news of new Jeopardy! hosts (yes, plural!). - Judith Light has been cast in a role playing the mother of Courteney Cox's character in the Starz horror comedy series, Shining Vale. (TVLine)
- It probably went under the radar since it was a Monday night animated series as opposed to Sunday night, but Fox has renewed HouseBroken for a second season. (Deadline)
- Pat Hitchcock, daughter of Alfred Hitchcock who appeared in many of his movies and in several episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, has died at age 93. (AP News)
- Only weeks after the death of her Night Court co-star Charles Robinson, Markie Post has now died. (NPR)
- Rachel Maddow is credited with taking MSNBC from a long-struggling cable network to a powerhouse that has at times outperformed Fox News in recent years, but now, she is considering moving on. (The Daily Beast)
- We mentioned last week that fans weren't exactly thrilled by the Mike Richards, the reported choice of host for Jeopardy!, and he did indeed officially get named for that job this week. But fans are a little more excited by the choice of hosts for the primetime spinoffs on ABC, Mayim Bialik. (SitcomsOnline)
