Netflix Gives Us More Bonding Time; Lifetime Movie Club Gets First Original Movie
Netflix is calling for more bonding this year. They have picked up a second season of comedy Bonding and announced it will be available on Jan. 27. Totally broke and banned from every dungeon in New York City, best friends Tiff and Pete work to rebuild their reputations in the BDSM community. Zoe Levin and Brendan Scannell are the stars. Bonding centers on the relationship between former high-school BFFs, Pete, a recently out gay man, and Tiff, a grad student and secretly one of New York City's top dominatrixes, who reconnect in an unexpected way years later. The dark comedy is loosely based on the life experiences of Rightor Doyle (Barry, You're the Worst, Nerve), who serves as writer, director, showrunner, and executive producer. Micah Stock, D'Arcy Carden, Eric Berryman and Theo Stockman also star. Seven episodes aired during the first season but it is unclear how many will air in this second season, but a trailer is out:
For the lovers of Lifetime Movies, 2021 is shaping up to be even sweeter with Lifetime Movie Club debuting its inaugural original movie Dead in the Water on Friday, January 15. This marks the first time the streaming service will premiere a movie exclusively on the platform. Available commercial free, Dead in the Water is the first of three films that will make their world premieres on Lifetime Movie Club. The movie stars Peter Porte, Catherine Lidstone, Angela Gulner, Michael Blake Kruse and Sam Krumrine. Premiere dates for the remaining two movies will be announced at a later date.
Dead in the Water follows aspiring photography vlogger Tara (Catherine Lidstone, Proven Innocent). When she gets dumped by her longtime boyfriend Derek (Sam Krumrine, La La Land, Lucifer), her best friend Amy (Angela Gulner, Dan is Dead) takes her on a weekend getaway to her family's vacation lake house, where a mysterious and effortlessly attractive man named Lucas (Peter Porte, Baby Daddy, Devious Maids, The Young and the Restless) crosses paths with them. They decide he is the perfect way to spice up their trip, but his presence causes emotions to run high and suddenly the girls are forced to face the demons between themselves... or is something more devious going on?
Dead in the Water is produced by Lunar Field Productions. It is written and directed by Nanea Miyata and produced by Miyata and Ryan Moon. Other titles available in January include Driven to the Edge, Mile High Escorts, Death of a Cheerleader and Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret. With Lifetime Movie Club, stream hundreds of new and classic Lifetime movies - anytime, anywhere, commercial-free. Enjoy themed playlists and new movies rotated in every week. Subscriptions are offered for 3.99/month or $39.99/year after a 7-day free trial (cancel anytime). Lifetime Movie Club is available on iOS, AppleTV, Android, Roku and Google Chromecast.
