Fri-Yay: Community Moving to Netflix Next Week; NBC Announces Final Episodes of Season List

by Vincent
Starting on Wednesday, Community is the latest sitcom addition to join Netflix. This is pretty exciting as it's an opportunity for the series to become more popular, and I've always felt that it's been the NBC sitcom of its era that has been the least discovered by the steaming masses. The Office and Parks and Rec have become streaming favorites, 30 Rock is a constant internet meme generator, but Community - while still beloved by its small but dedicated fanbase - doesn't get quite the same amount of hype. Hopefully, the show's transition to Netflix can expose it to a wider audience. While Community has been available on Hulu for many years, and Hulu is steadily increasing in popularity, it still doesn't seem to get quite the same cultural pull that Netflix does.
If you're someone with a Netflix account looking for a new sitcom to watch while staying home, Community is a great choice. It's funny, creative and has a great cast, and goes places you'd never expect a sitcom to do. It has the same clever humor of a show like The Office, but with the mind-blowing experimenting of a fringe show like Rick and Morty. I highly recommend the series, and I hope it gets enough new fans that maybe the "and a movie" part of its six seasons and a movie prophecy comes true.
Due to production halts, most series were cut a few episodes. NBC has announced final episode dates for its series. Some series were unaffected by the halt (i.e. Manifest, Will & Grace, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Indebted) and are ending as scheduled. Here is a full list of final episodes of the season list for NBC:
