SitcomsOnline Digest: American Dad Gets Two Season Renewal at TBS; New Details About Roseanne Reboot

- TBS has not only renewed American Dad for two more seasons, but they'll even be pairing it with another new animated comedy. (Deadline)
- Roseanne Barr, who ran for president in 2012 as the candidate for a third party that has a strong socialist platform, has been in the news a lot lately for her pro-Trump views, and it seems that her character in the reboot of the series will also be a Trump supporter. (Washington Post)
- Because apparently everything that happened in the 90s is huge again, ABC scored big with their Tonya Harding interview, where her mother insisted "we were never trailer trash, we had a beautiful new trailer." (Deadline)
- Flight of the Conchords had a short (but very memorable) life on HBO, and now, the two stars are getting back together for a one hour comedy special. (Billboard)
- The character Apu on The Simpsons has been getting a lot of negative attention lately regarding the stereotypes of Indian people that it portrays, and Hank Azaria (the man who voices the character) says that the series will be addressing that issue. (Entertainment Weekly)
- Donnelly Rhodes, who is known to sitcom fans for his role of Dutch on Soap, has died this week. (New York Times)
- A certain four letter word that would have been unheard of on basic cable (except for a certain episode of South Park) has been in the news a lot lately, and the FCC is already getting complaints about news outlets repeating it. (Deadline)
- It's been a long time since we've seen a failed backdoor pilot air as an episode of the parent series, but The Goldbergs is about to do it. (SitcomsOnline)

- Comedy Central brings The Office to their lineup next week, and it will begin with a 13 hour marathon on Monday.
- The comedy series Corporate debuts on Comedy Central on Wednesday.
- You can join Dan Tanna this weekend on Decades, as they air a Vega$ marathon all weekend.
- The Paynes, Tyler Perry's House of Payne spinoff, will debut on Tuesday on OWN before moving to its regular slot on Friday.
- It's always great to see new additions to Hulu, and this week, they've added Living Single.
