ABC at 2016 TCA Summer Press Tour; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of August 8, 2016)

ABC

We're recapping some of the big news from the ABC portion of the 2016 TCA Summer Press Tour. The ABC Television Network announced pickup orders for summer sensations Celebrity Family Feud, The $100,000 Pyramid, Match Game and To Tell the Truth. ABC has also ordered straight-to-series ten episodes of Skydance Television's all-new Ten Days in the Valley, which will star and be executive produced by Emmy and Golden Globe winner Kyra Sedgwick. Skydance Television anticipates that the series, which is created, written, and executive produced by Tassie Cameron (Rookie Blue), who also serves as showrunner, will debut on ABC in 2017. Ten Days in the Valley marks Sedgwick's return to headlining a drama series following her seven-season tenure on The Closer. It could be a contender for next summer's schedule.

Moving to digital, we have some news for ABCd (ABC Digital) series. ABC Entertainment is announcing that it is ordering additional installments of its new ABCd comedy series Forever 31, created by and starring comedian Iliza Shlesinger; I Can Find $3000 In Your Home, featuring eBay millionaire Linda Lightman; and Newborn Moms, created by and starring Aurora Browne and Nadine Djoury. Additionally, the network has acquired American Koko, from Diarra Kilpatrick and Viola Davis' JuVEe Productions, and I Like You Just the Way I Am, from New York Times best-selling author and actress Jenny Mollen. ABCd series are exclusive to the newly re-launched ABC app for desktop, mobile and connected TV devices. In addition to Forever 31, I Can Find $3000 In Your Home and Newborn Moms, current ABCd series include: All My Gay Friends are Getting Married, Boondoogle, Tastemade's Get Cookin and On The Record.
