ION Television March Highlights; Improv Comedy Series Coming to NBC in April

ION Television finally released the rest of March's schedule. We previously just had March 1-11, so we thought maybe they would be changing or expanding the line-up starting March 12. That isn't the case though. The schedule will remain the same as it is now. ION Life has been added to Mondays at 10PM, but that was added late this month. Charlie's Angels will continue to air Tuesdays-Fridays at 10. But for the week of March 26-30, a special Kung Fu week is slated for the slot. There are no other specials and stunts, as of now. ION Weekend Movies include Mad Max and Superman III. Hopefully the hours expand and we get some of those shows (like Perfect Strangers, Wonder Years!) from their poll rolling in soon. We will be the first to let you know, of course. For now, click here to view the March highlights.

NBC's new improv comedy challenge series Thank God You're Here hosted by David Alan Grier (In Living Color, Life with Bonnie) alongside presiding improv judge Dave Foley (NewsRadio) -- will premiere on Monday, April 9 from 9-10 p.m. ET and Monday, April 16 from 9-10 p.m. ET, both preceded by game-show hit Deal or No Deal from 8-9 p.m. ET. The series will then resume in its regular day and time on Wednesdays at 8 starting Wednesday, April 18 from 8-9 p.m. ET.
The show showcases the improvisational skills of a group of four different brave actors each week as they walk into the high-wire act known as improv each one entering into a live sketch without a net or script -- their only armor and motivation is an unforeseen and unexplained wardrobe change.
The only thing the celebrity can count on when walking into the scenario is a desperate greeting from a fellow actor in the skit, proclaiming upon their arrival, Thank God You're Here! This is the only show on television that gives the performers costumes, sets and props but no script! Taped in front of a live audience, the series' pilot episode features Jennifer Coolidge, Bryan Cranston (Malcolm in the Middle), Joel McHale and Wayne Knight (Seinfeld).
Other guest stars trying their hand at improv in subsequent episodes include Fred Willard, Tom Arnold (Roseanne), Fran Drescher (The Nanny), Tom Green, Chelsea Handler, George Takei, Shannon Elizabeth, Paul Rodriguez, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Mo'Nique, Angela Kinsey (NBC's The Office) and Alanis Morrisette. Former Seinfeld star Jason Alexander also joins the fun as well as former Saturday Night Live star Ana Gasteyer as they both return to NBC.
