SitcomsOnline Digest: Game of Thrones Leads Emmy Nominations; New Beverly Hillbillies DVDs Coming in October

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! It's a very busy week with tons of Emmy nomination news to go around, not all of which we could fit in here! Plus, we're hearing an update about the Mad About You reboot, some new DVDs for Beverly Hillbillies, and more. Let's get going!

  • The full list of Emmy nominees is out, and of course, Game of Thrones leads it yet again, while Modern Family is finding itself shut out from the major awards (though it did get some minor nominations) for the first time ever. (NPR
  • With HBO leading the nominations for Emmys, as well as streaming services such as Netflix in the game now too, some are left to wonder if broadcast dramas will ever get their Emmy recognition again. (Deadline)
  • The week just wouldn't be right without more Roseanne news, and this week, we learned that the series scored two Emmy nominations (although neither were for the star herself). (CNN)
  • The Mad About You reboot idea that was being thrown around a few weeks ago "probably won't happen" according to star Paul Reiser. (Vulture)
  • The FCC is considering putting an end to the requirement for broadcast networks to air educational/informational programming. (Broadcasting & Cable)

  • Antenna TV will also be airing a special marathon on Sunday of episodes of sitcoms that included musical guest star.
  • Decades will be airing Greatest American Hero all weekend long.

When Adam sees a kid push Emme, he convinces Teddy to dish out some old-school justice to defend his younger sister, to Andi’s dismay. Also, Adam and Don persuade Joe to hire a nurse to help out after his upcoming knee surgery. Ron Funches guest stars as Funches, Joe’s home nurse.
