Fox and CBS Order Mutli-Camera Sitcoms for 18-19; truTV Gets Comedy

The Cool Kids

Fox has ordered the multi-camera sitcom The Cool Kids to series for 2018-19 season. Three guy friends in a retirement community are the top dogs until they're blown out of the water by the newest member of the community, a female rebel whose ready to challenge their place - it's high school with 70 somethings. Vicki Lawrence stars as Margaret, Martin Mull as Charlie, David Alan Grier as Hank and Leslie Jordan as Sid.

CBS has also ordered two multi-camera sitcoms. First up is, an Untitled Ben Wilson Project about a young married couple whose evenings have become comfortable and routine; their lives are completely upended when a young musician moves into their spare bedroom and brings with him the complications of being an up-and-coming mega pop star - sometimes even the paparazzi. Amber Stevens West stars as Claire, Chris Parnell as Wayne, Damon Wayans, Jr. as Peter, and Felix Mallard as Cooper. And finally, CBS has ordered Welcome to the Neighborhood, about the nicest guy in the Midwest who moves his family into a tough neighborhood in L.A. where not everyone appreciates his extreme neighborliness. Cedric the Entertainer stars as Calvin, Dreama Walker as Gemma, Josh Lawson as Dave, Marcel Spears as Marty, Sheaun McKinney as Malcolm, and Tichina Arnold as Loretta.


Tacoma FD

truTV has ordered Tacoma FD (wt) with 10 scripted half-hour episodes ordered. On the heels of the breakout theatrical release of Super Troopers 2, co-creators and stars Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme will be donning new uniforms in Tacoma FD, a new half-hour comedy set in a firehouse in the wettest city in America. Light on blazes that need extinguishing, they are fire fighters who are always ready to fight fires... but in this wet city, they find themselves tackling the less glamorous elements of the job. Leading the fire house crew are Chief Terry McConky (Heffernan) and Captain Eddie Penisi (Lemme). The series, which will go into production later this year and will debut in 2019, is co-created and executive produced by Heffernan and Lemme alongside David Miner and Greg Walter from 3 Arts Entertainment and Kyle Clark from Silverscreen Pictures.

Eddie finally gets his driver’s license; but instead of freedom, he finds an endless list of errands to run for his mom. Will he be done in time to take his friends to the Insane Clown Posse concert? Louis is excited for a boy’s weekend at Chili Con with Marvin, until Honey tags along; and Jessica faces off with her nemesis, Jamie, at the school fundraiser.

Speechless - "H-- HEY, YOU" (ABC, 8:30PM ET/PT)
Maya is less than thrilled when Kenneth interferes with her business plans with Melanie. Ray begs JJ to cast him opposite his new crush, Izzy, in his next movie, which has unexpected consequences. Meanwhile, Dylan is impressed with Jimmy’s band.

Last Man Standing - "Dreams vs. Realty" (Fox, 8:00PM ET/PT) (Repeat)
Mandy comes close to forgetting her fashion designer dreams when she is confronted with rejection and sends herself in a spiral; Vanessa feels regret as she reflects on her own career path; Mike helps the women in his family achieve their dreams.

The Cool Kids - "Thanksgiving at Murray's" (Fox, 8:30PM ET/PT) (Repeat)
Mike and Ryan are forced to get along together when Boyd proposes a compromise to their plans to take him on separate trips by all three going on a trip together; Mandy and Kyle attempt to solve a mystery like a pair of detectives.

Andi Mack - "I Got Your Number" (Disney Channel, 8:30PM ET/PT)
Andi gets in over her head when she attends a high school party with Amber, causing Bowie's plans for a romantic outing with Bex to go awry; Cyrus tries to mend a longtime rift between Jonah and T.J.
