It's time for another edition of Fri-Yay! That means we will take a look back on some sitcom happenings in recent days or weeks or other fun sitcomy stuff. It's a sitcom lover's paradise! Happy Fri-Yay!

As the COVID-19 situation has dragged on in the US, one interesting trend is the reunion of sitcom casts via online video platforms. Over the past few months, many sitcoms casts have "reunited" to relive some of the show's most famous moments, read scripts, or in some cases, even produce a new episode. The Parks and Recreation remotely produced special a few weeks ago is the most obvious example, but over the past few weeks, casts of shows ranging from The Office to Community to Lizzie McGuire to Sonny With a Chance have shared reunions taking place over Zoom. It's interesting as previously, a "sitcom reunion" was a big, hyped event, often taking place on primetime or a talk show. (A Friends reunion was originally scheduled to happen this month as part of the show's much-hyped launch on HBO Max, but it has been postponed indefinitely due to the Coronavirus.) And yet now, stars are hopping onto Zoom to share with each other and fans how much they've missed each other.
The most notable other than the previously covered Parks episode is the The Office reunion, in which the cast joked, laughed and relived some of the show's finest moments. The Community cast also reunited via Zoom to read an episode script of one of the show's most beloved episodes and participate in a fan Q&A, including the now world famous Donald Glover, who many predicted would be difficult to get for a Community reunion (but has showed a large amount of love and interest in the show, sparking rumors that the long-awaited movie could finally be materializing.) It's been a nice bonus of this unfortunate situation to see actors - who for once have nothing else to do - getting together and sharing the memories they had with their fellow co-stars and with fans. It's just one of the many ways that's been helping us get through the reduced amount of content we're getting thanks to COVID-19.

Comedy Central Fall 2016 Has How I Met Your Mother; Lizzie McGuire Creator Gets New Disney Sitcom
It's another case of Viacom sharing and they love to share shows with its siblings. The latest show is How I Met Your Mother, which has been airing on sister networks TV Land and (previously) Nick at Nite, but will now appear on Comedy Central come this September. The "legendary" sitcom will join the schedule on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 and will air weekday mornings at 10:30am and 11am, following reruns of Saturday Night Live at 9:30am. How I Met Your Mother currently airs on many networks, with TV Land airing the sitcom in the overnight, WGN America in late fringe, Lifetime in mid-morning and FX in afternoons. Not to mention local broadcast syndication! Will one of these cable networks be losing the series come this fall? Stay tuned, but it looks like the Viacom networks (TV Land and Comedy Central), will still be airing the sitcom.
Disney Channel has ordered Andi Mack, a new series for kids and families created and executive produced by Terri Minsky who also created one of Disney Channel's defining hit series, Lizzie McGuire. The series begins production this fall in Salt Lake City, Utah, with 12-year-old newcomer Peyton Elizabeth Lee starring in the title role. It is scheduled for a 2017 premiere on Disney Channel. Andi Mack, a single-camera family series, centers around Andi as she's about to celebrate her 13th birthday. However, when her capricious older sister Bex returns home with the hope of getting her life together, Andi's life is turned upside down and she is left questioning everything she's ever known. Also starring are Lilan Bowden (Zombie Apocalypse) as Andi's sister Bex, Lauren Tom (The Joy Luck Club, Friends) as Andi's mother Celia, Joshua Rush (Disney's The Lion Guard) as Cyrus and Asher Angel (Jolene) as Jonah Beck. In addition to Lizzie McGuire, for which she was a WGA Award nominee, Minsky created the television sitcoms Less Than Perfect and The Geena Davis Show, both for ABC and most recently developed Finding Carter for MTV.

That's So Throwback Block on Freeform; All in the Family Heads to Logo on Mother's Day
Summertime is almost here! Instead of just reminiscing about your childhood summer adventures, relive the good old days by hanging out with some of your favorite Disney Channel stars. Laugh along with Lizzie McGuire as she competes with Kate, flash forward to the future with Raven Baxter, live a double life with Hannah Montana, and help Kim Possible save the world. Boy the way Glenn Miller played! That line can mean only one thing: All in the Family! The classic '70s sitcom is going to make its way to Logo this Sunday (May 8) on Mother's Day from 10am-4:50pm. It's the mother of all sitcoms, so what a perfect fit! ABC Family's Throwback Week Block; NBC Alters Friday Line-Up in January
ABC Family says goodbye to 2014 with its "That's So Throwback" programming block, featuring Disney Channel classic comedy series Lizzie McGuire, That's So Raven, Even Stevens, and original movies The Cheetah Girls and Halloweentown. "That's So Throwback" airs Monday, December 29th, 2014 through Friday, January 2nd, 2015, from midnight to 2AM ET/PT. There is no better time for nostalgia than the end of the year, so why not spend those late nights catching up on the favorite shows of your tween years? Life was simpler when all you had to worry about was whether or not Lizzie was actually going to find Aaron Carter, if Luis beats those mean school bullies at their own game, or if The Cheetah Girls will get their record deal. So instead of reminiscing about your Disney Channel friends or going online to watch clips, hang out with ABC Family and watch the real thing instead. You'll see stars like Hillary Duff, Raven-Symoné, Kyle Massey, Shia LaBeouf, Adrienne Bailon, Sabrina Bryan, and the legendary Debbie Reynolds.
When NBC's Friday line-up returns on Friday, Jan. 16 with new episodes, it will have some timeslot changes. The network will move struggling rookie drama Constantine to the 8:00pm hour, prompting to move news-magazine Dateline NBC to 10:00pm instead. Grimm will still anchor the night at 9:00pm, though, so it is a switch between Constantine and Dateline. The move will be for 5 weeks only, as Constantine has only 5 episodes left to air. No word yet on what will air at 8pm beginning Feb. 27. Based on the wildly popular DC Comics series "Hellblazer," Constantine is a seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine (Matt Ryan, Criminal Minds) specializes in giving hell... hell.
