Style Acquires Sister Sister; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of July 9, 2012)

Style Media has acquired the rights to air the '90s hit sitcom Sister, Sister, starring Tia and Tamera Mowry. The network will air the comedy weekday mornings beginning this coming Monday, July 9 at 7am & 7:30am ET/PT, beginning with back-to-back episodes from the first season and continuing throughout the summer. An all-new episode of the popular docu-series Tia & Tamera, which of course star Tia and Tamera, premieres Monday, July 9 at 8pm ET/PT on Style. As for Sister, Sister, the network will share the cable rights with GMC, which has been airing the series on Saturdays (mainly from 9am-1pm. The series was also recently on Centric/BET, but it has not aired in awhile (since late 2011), so perhaps they lost rights and Style gained their rights. Among the other off-network reruns Style airs are Sex and the City, Supernanny, and America's Next Top Model.
Sister, Sister follows twins Tia Landry (Tia Mowry) and Tamera Campbell (Tamera Mowry) who are reunited during a chance encounter shopping at the mall with their adoptive parents. Now that they have found each other, Tamera convinces her adopted father, Ray (Tim Reid), to allow Tia and her adopted mother, Lisa (Jackée Harry), to move in with them. While the sisters may look identical, they have very different personalities and upbringings - Tia is a top student who grew up in inner-city Detroit and Tamera is a boy-crazy teen from the suburbs. Together, this unconventional blended family is learning life lessons through laughter and love.
