Week 33 TV Ratings and Analysis; How the Sitcoms Did

2016-17 Week 33 TV Ratings (first four nights Mon-Thu):

Households: #1. CBS 4.88/9 rating/share (+26% in rating from first four nights week 32); #2. NBC 3.73/7 (-5%); #3. ABC 3.44/6 (+1%); #4. Fox 1.93/3 (-3%); #5. The CW 0.86/2 (+2%).
Total Viewers: #1. CBS 7.707 million (+28% from first four nights week 32); #2. NBC 5.818 million (-5%); #3. ABC 5.236 million (+2%); #4. Fox 3.000 million (-2%); #5. The CW 1.530 million (+15%).
Adults 18-49: #1. CBS 1.27/5 rating/share (+25% in rating from first four nights week 32); #2. ABC  1.16/5 (+3%); #3. NBC 1.14/4 (-5%); #4. Fox 0.95/4 (+1%); #5. The CW 0.46/2 (even)

We have previous week's final ratings, Week 32 (4/24/17-4/30/17, LIVE+SD). NBC won the week in A18-49 and did a 1.07 rating.  ABC was #2 with a 0.90 rating.  CBS was #3 with a 0.88 rating, while Fox was #4 with a 0.76 rating. What a low week.  Among total viewers, CBS was #1 with 6.201 million, with NBC #2 at 5.313 million.  ABC was #3 with 4.052 million and Fox at #4 with 2.430 million.

For season to-date (9/19/16-5/4/17, LIVE+SD), NBC is 1 in A18-49 with a 1.72 rating, followed by Fox at #2 with a 1.59 rating thanks to the Super Bowl and also heavily inflated by a high 7-game World Series. Without those 2 events, Fox would be #4. CBS is  #3 with a 1.45 rating and ABC at #4 with a 1.20 rating. Among total viewers it is CBS #1 at 8.090 million, followed by the dropping NBC at #2 with 6.892 million. Super Bowl/World Series boosted Fox still at #3 with 5.125 million as ABC is #4 with 4.991 million. ABC could likely overtake Fox in total viewers by the end of season, in the next few weeks.

Back to week 33 (May 1-7), read our full night-by-night analysis followed by how the sitcoms did! GREAT showings are in BOLD. If they are in bold in both total viewers and 18-49, then it is very impressive:

Sitcoms Airing Tonight

Saturday, February 17

The Middle - "The Setup" (ABC, 8:00PM ET/PT) (Repeat)
Frankie is tasked with being at her mom Pat’s (Marsha Mason) beck and call when she has to stay for a few days at the Heck house after coming down with an ailment. Meanwhile, just when it looks like Sean is about to ask Sue out on a date, Sue nervously blurts out that maybe they should both try to set each other up on a date with one of their friends; and Axl and Brick ponder what it is exactly that Mike does at the quarry.

The Middle - "Eyes Wide Open" (ABC, 8:30PM ET/PT) (Repeat)
Axl heads to Chicago to visit Hutch for the weekend but discovers that his friend, who has his own apartment and a job, is now acting more like a responsible adult than the free-spirited college student he once knew. Meanwhile, Sue’s excitement over having the apartment to herself over the weekend turns to horror when she is unable to sleep after watching “Silence of the Lambs”; and Brick enlists Frankie and Mike’s aid to help convince Lilah, a new student who doesn’t know anyone at school yet, that she and Brick would make a cute couple.

black-ish - "Please Don't Feed the Animals" (ABC, 9:00PM ET/PT) (Repeat)
Bow keeps in touch with Dre’s incarcerated godbrother, Omar, but when they find out he is being released from prison, Omar’s future sparks debate. Meanwhile, Ruby lets it slip to the kids that she’s been to jail and they push her to tell them more secrets from her past.

black-ish - "Charity Case" (ABC, 9:30PM ET/PT) (Repeat)
Dre is chosen to lead Stevens & Lido’s new charity campaign which helps people give back to their community. When Bow advises Dre that there is more to giving back than cutting checks, he decides to donate some of his clothes to a man in need. Meanwhile, Junior fails his driving test, so Ruby offers to chaperone a trip with him and the twins on an informative outing.

The Thundermans - "Rhythm n' Shoes " (Nickelodeon, 8:00PM ET/PT)
Determined to meet a famous pop singer visiting Hiddenville High, Phoebe and Max devise elaborate schemes to insert themselves into her performance that quickly lead to disastrous results.

Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn - "The Harper Quad-Jobbers" (Nickelodeon, 8:30PM ET/PT)
