ABC Announces 50th Anniversary Charlie Brown Christmas Special; AXS TV Fall 2015 with Nashville
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the beloved Peanuts animated tale, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Kristen Bell (Disney's Frozen, Veronica Mars) will host a special holiday retrospective, It's Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown, Monday, November 30 from 9:00-10:00pm ET on the ABC Television Network. The anniversary special will celebrate 50 years of the iconic classic that has brought joy and a television watching tradition at the holidays for generations of fans. With an unforgettable night featuring spectacular live performances of Vince Guaraldi's classics from acclaimed musical guests, the special will also feature Hollywood notables reminiscing about their most treasured A Charlie Brown Christmas moments. In the digitally-remastered 1965 special, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism that he sees everywhere during the Christmas season. Lucy suggests that he become director of the school Christmas pageant, and Charlie Brown accepts, but it proves to be a frustrating struggle. When an attempt to restore the proper spirit with a forlorn little fir Christmas tree fails, Charlie Brown needs Linus' help to learn what the real meaning of Christmas is.
Bolstering its primetime programming portfolio, AXS TV has entered into a multi-year licensing agreement with the Disney-ABC Television Group for off-network cable rights to the first three seasons of the critically-acclaimed primetime ABC drama, Nashville. The deal gives AXS TV the exclusive primetime cable premiere of the hit series, which will launch on the network Sept. 26. Produced by Lionsgate Television, ABC Studios and Opry Entertainment, NASHVILLE is executive produced by Dee Johnson, Callie Khouri and Steve Buchanan. Beginning Saturday, September 26, AXS TV will present the ultimate binge-watching experience with an evening of great storytelling, immersive drama, and show-stopping performances, with the smash country music drama Nashville. The network has acquired the first three seasons of the beloved series, and will air three episodes in succession each week, starting on Sept. 26 at 8pm ET. Nashville stars an outstanding ensemble cast led by Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere in addition to an impressive roster of guest stars that includes Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Kelly Clarkson, and Luke Bryan, among others.
