NBC and CBS Sitcom Shake-Up; TV Guide Channel Showcasing TV Legends

NBC has made some shuffles to their sitcoms starting March 7. In a surprise move, second year sitcom Joey will return and will air Tuesdays at 8 and 8:30 p.m. starting March 7, replacing Fear Factor which will return this summer. The new mid-season sitcom Teachers, which was set to air Thursdays at 9:30 p.m., will now be Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. starting March 28. Also starting March 28, Scrubs will take over Joey's 8:30 p.m. slot with encore airing, followed by a new episode at 9 p.m. So what will air Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. now that Teachers is on Tuesdays? The Office! Encores of The Office will be airing along with an extra all-new episode for May 11. I highly doubt Joey will be airing in May, though. Expect it for March and April only. So when will NBC pull the plug on Four Kings? That is the only question now... For the NBC statement on these changes, click here.

CBS announced that new mid-season sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine will air Mondays at 9:30 p.m. starting March 13, replacing Courting Alex. Courting Alex will be shifted to Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. starting March 22. So some might be wondering, didn't CBS promise to bring back Out of Practice? Yes, they did, and they will, but to a new night and time. It will air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. starting March 22. Still Standing and Yes, Dear are out of the loop. Both will be all but done after this month. I doubt both will be back at all next season.

The TV Guide Channel will be showcasing an all-new one-hour special tomorrow night at 9 p.m. They will remember TV Legends. Recollections from stars like Dick Van Dyke, Henry Winkler, Alan Alda, William Shatner and John Ritter. Tune in tomorrow night at 9 p.m. on TV Guide Channel. With encores slated for the same night at midnight, this Saturday at 8pm and this Sunday at 10pm.
