Long Story Short Gets Season 2 Ahead of Premiere; Netflix's Wayward Premieres September 25

Long Story Short premieres August 22 and has now just been picked up for season two before it even premieres. Quote from creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg: "Wow!! A season two?! And season one hasn't even come out yet! It must be a REALLY good show. I can't wait to watch it when it premieres on Netflix, Friday, August 22! Let's all do that!"

Long Story Short is an animated comedy from the creator of BoJack Horseman about one family, over time. Jumping through the years, we follow the Schwooper siblings from childhood to adulthood and back again, chronicling their triumphs, disappointments, joys, and compromises. 10 episodes will air for season one.

Nothing is what it seems in Tall Pines. After an escape attempt from an academy for "troubled teens", two students join forces with a newly local police officer, unearthing the town's dark and deeply rooted secrets. In the picture-perfect town of Tall Pines, sinister secrets lurk behind every closed door. Not long after police officer Alex Dempsey (Mae Martin) and his pregnant wife Laura (Sarah Gadon) move into their new home, he connects with two students Abbie (Sydney Topliffe) and Leila (Alyvia Alyn Lind) from the local school for "troubled teens" who are desperate to escape and could be the key to unearthing everything rotten in the town. As Alex begins investigating a series of unusual incidents, he suspects that Evelyn (Toni Collette), the school's mysterious leader, might be at the center of all the problems.

Created by Mae Martin, Wayward is a thrilling and genre-bending limited series about the eternal struggle between one generation and the next, what happens when friendship and loyalty are put to the ultimate test, and how buried truths always find a way of coming to the surface.

The Big Bang Theory's Stuart Spinoff Ordered by HBO Max; Long Story Short Premieres August 22 on Netflix

HBO Max has given a series order to The Big Bang Theory spinoff Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, from Chuck Lorre Productions and Warner Bros. Television. The comedy series is executive produced by Emmy®-nominated creators Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady.

Comic book store owner Stuart Bloom is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon. Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke. Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we've come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. As the title implies, things don’t go well.

The series stars Kevin Sussman (Stuart), Lauren Lapkus (Denise), Brian Posehn (Bert), and John Ross Bowie (Barry).

Netflix's Long Story Short Announces Cast; NBC Renews All Chicago Series for 2025-26

Netflix has announced the cast of adult animated comedy series Long Story Short from Raphael Bob-Waksberg, creator of BoJack Horseman, coming August 22. Starring the voices of Lisa Edelstein, Paul Reiser, Ben Feldman, Abbi Jacobson, Max Greenfield, Angelique Cabral, Nicole Byer, as well as recurring guests Dave Franco and Michaela Dietz. NBC's hugely popular Wednesday night #OneChicago franchise has been renewed for the 2025-26 season. Of course #OneChicago consists of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D., all on Wednesday nights. All three Chicago dramas have seen increased viewing on Peacock vs. last season. In its 10th season, Chicago Med airs at 8 p.m. Wednesdays and is executive produced by Dick Wolf, Allen MacDonald, Stephen Hootstein and Peter Jankowski. In its 13th season, Chicago Fire airs at 9 p.m. Wednesdays and is executive produced by Dick Wolf, Andrea Newman, Reza Tabrizi, Matt Whitney and Peter Jankowski.
