TV One Adds 'Mr. Cooper' in January, 'Roc' Returns; You Can Join The 'Knights'
Included in this change is the TV One launch of the classic '90s sitcom Hangin' With Mr. Cooper, starring Mark Curry as an Oakland high school coach/teacher. Co-stars include Holly Robinson, Omar Gooding, Raven Symone, and Nell Carter. The sitcom will air weekdays at 6:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.
Starting Tuesday, January 2, the changes are to weekdays between 6am-8pm, everything else will remain the same as it is now. As mentioned Mr. Cooper will air weekdays at 6:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. Other changes include the return of Roc, airing weekdays at 2 p.m. Fastlane moves to 11 a.m., in which it will share the slot with the short-lived series A Man Called Hawk. Hawk will air Tuesdays and Thursdays, while Fastlane will air Monday, Wednesdays & Fridays. Boston Public moves from mornings to 4 p.m. And Amen will now only air weekdays at 6 & 6:30 a.m. It will also still air Sundays at 1:30 p.m.
The month has various special programming as well. On Monday, January 1, TV One rings in the new year with a rebroadcast of its popular "Many Mugs of Martin Marathon" which showcases Martin Lawrence playing some of his most memorable characters from the sitcom Martin. On Monday January 15 in honor of the Martin Luther King Holiday, TV One presents a "Moving Movie Marathon" with movies beginning at 8am that may move you to action, move you to tears, or just move you to think. And On Saturday January 27, it's all about Anthony Anderson as TV One airs a marathon of his sitcom All About the Andersons in which all 16 episodes produced will air beginning at 12 Noon.
There are other specials, but they are about original programming such as Bill Bellamy's Who's Got Jokes? week (week of Jan. 29) counting down to the finale on Feb. 3. There will also be new episodes of TV One originals The Tom Joyner Sky Show, TV One Access, TV One on One, The Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors, and the newest originals Black Men Revealed, The Star Jones Reynolds Report and Tavis Smiley's Road to Health.
