  • Sesame Street has let go of three cast members who've been part of the series for four decades, including one who has been on the series since the first episode, and many people are not happy. (New Yorker)

TUESDAY (AUGUST 2) HOME MEDIA RELEASES

FOLLOW ME

Who to Follow: Lucie Arnaz (Twitter), "actress, singer, dancer, songwriter, producer, writer, director, teacher, sometime trapeze artist, wife and mother."
Claim to Fame: August is coming up, and it is a month where we usually reflect on the life and career of Lucille Ball, since her birthday is coming up on August 6 (one week from today). Lucille Ball died, of course, almost three decades ago, but her two children, Desi Arnaz, Jr. and Lucie Arnaz, have continued to make sure that the legacy of their mother lives on for decades to come. Lucie Arnaz made her television debut on a few episodes of The Lucy Show before being cast as Kim, Lucy Carter's daughter, in the series Here's Lucy. Her television career was mostly short-lived, but as it turns out, a different direction was much more appropriate for her and has been a place where she has been able to thrive: musical theatre, including Broadway productions. She is still sort of trying to get the hang of Twitter and (as she often admits herself) has a tendency to show up and disappear, but we hope to hear more from her in the future.
Pick of the Tweets: "Can I go to Tweet school? Still so confused!" (April 14, 2012)

The Middle - "Meet the Parents" (ABC, 8:00PM ET/PT)
Frankie is stoked when Axl invites her and Mike to meet and have dinner with girlfriend Lexie’s rich parents, Tammy (Lisa Rinna) and Bennett. But Frankie is worried that their less then luxurious lifestyle may put a damper on their meeting. Meanwhile, Brick is excited to be a part of the Sophomore Slammer fundraiser, in which fellow classmates fake arrest each other and friends come to pay money – which will go to charity – to bail them out. But Brick soon discovers that no matter how hard he tries, he just can’t get arrested.

With the realization that Eddie is finally mature enough to be left on his own, Louis and Jessica see the light at the end of their parenting tunnel and make plans to spend more time with friends Honey and Marvin. Until their neighbors announce a plan of their own: Marvin is getting his vasectomy reversed so the couple can conceive a baby. The Huangs do their best to dissuade them.

black-ish - "Elder. Scam." (ABC, 9:00PM ET/PT)

The Mayor - "Buyer's Remorse" (ABC, 9:30PM ET/PT)
As Courtney settles into his new role as mayor, he’s faced with a dismal approval rating as the citizens of Fort Grey express their lack of confidence in his ability to lead, as well as those on his own staff. The Mick - "The Haunted House" (Fox, 9:00PM ET/PT)
