SitcomsOnline Digest: Tina Fey and Robert Carlock Comedy Gets CBS Commitment; Growing Pains and The Middle DVD Release Dates Set

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! As the fall season has fully arrived now, everything is getting back to business as usual at the broadcast networks (of course, cable and streaming doesn't know the seasons), and this week, we've got news of yet another Tina Fey and Robert Carlock comedy project (this time at CBS though), a reboot of MacGyver, and more. Let's get going!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
  • Tina Fey and Robert Carlock have managed to have a perfect record in bringing hilarious comedies to television (or Netflix) so far, and now they'll be joining Jack Burditt for yet another project on CBS. But this time, it will be a multi-camera. (Deadline)
  • Reboots are everywhere, and this time it is MacGyver. (Hollywood Reporter)
  • Meanwhile, a popular comedy from the US is getting a reboot (but only in Russia): Roseanne. (Deadline
  • The Splat is coming, although it is really just an expansion and retooling of the previously existing The '90s Are All That block. (SitcomsOnline)
  • The digital broadcast network getTV is adding class talk shows, including The Judy Garland Show and The Merv Griffin Show, to their lineup. (SitcomsOnline
